While on a sabbatical, ex-banker and consultant Chirag Bhandari witnessed the challenges faced by rural school students firsthand. During a visit to a rural school near Udaipur, Rajasthan, where his mother taught, he noticed the school lacked basic necessities such as benches and desks. Children sat hunched over as they tried to read and write, affecting their posture and health.
Moved by this, he created a frugal solution to address one of the pressing challenges of rural education — his innovative brainchild, the YeloGreen BagDesk — marking the beginning of this journey in 2018.
Guided by his personal connection to rural education and his global corporate experience, he soon realized the bag was only the starting point. This became a turning point, shifting the focus from a single product to systemic change. Today, Ennoble works through powerful CSR partnerships, setting new benchmarks for sustainable education reform in India.
What began as a small yet impactful effort to address the challenges of a rural classroom—with the creation of the pioneering YeloGreen BagDesk—has grown into a nationwide movement to transform education.
